This will include how to change the gas bottle and empty the toilet for example. The handover process will take about 45 minutes. If you are an international group and English is not your first language you should get one person from the group to interpret for the rest of the party. Remember that all communications, including emails and insurance documents will be in English.
Once the handover is complete and you accept that the vehicle is in good condition and sign the documentation your hire can begin.
Return handover at end of hire
At the end of your hire you must return the vehicle before 10.a.m. on the stated end of hire date. When you return the vehicle to the member at the agreed handover location the member will conduct the return handover. This can take 45 minutes or more as they inspect the vehicle for damage. Please return vehicles in the same good condition as they were in at the start of the hire. For example the fuel tanks, and at least one gas bottle must be full and the toilet cassette must be clean and empty. Please note that, if you are late, or the vehicle is not returned in the same condition as it was in at the start of the hire additional charges may apply, please see the Terms and Conditions for more details.
Please allow yourself plenty of time to get from the vehicle handover to the airport terminal check-in gate. Remember you may have to arrive well before the flight departure time. Please consult your airline for more details.

Early History of Prestwick Airport
Prestwick Airport began life as an airfield in 1913 for small bi-plane to take off the grass Meadows of Monkton village. It was not until 1934 that an aerodrome was build and the airport came into being.
The airfield was used as a training facility before the Second World War. The Scottish Aircraft Pioneer, David McIntyre, bought 348 acres of land outside of Orangefield House in Ayrshire, and established Scottish Aviation Ltd in 1935. Within the first year offices, training rooms, a hanger and a control tower had been constructed.
The site rapidly developed during the outbreak of the Second World War and by 1942 with America's involvement in the war under the Lend Lease programme with occasionally 300 aircraft arriving per day to be redistributed across the UK and later mainland Europe. The skies about Prestwick where a hive of activity.
Prestwick Airport was redeveloped in 1958 with plans for a new modern terminal building, freight building, runway extension for heavier long distance Boeing jets and modern civil aviation control tower. In September 1964 Queen Elizabeth officially opened the new airport building.
On March 2, 1960 Elvis the 'King of Music' arrived at Prestwick on his way home from military service in German. His famous immortal words on British soil were "Where am I?" At the time it was a good question to ask. Now Prestwick has become a transatlantic gateway as a low-budget hub.
The redeveloped airport was built to handle 3 million passengers a year.
