Why Motorhome Owners Join Us
Most motorhome owners become members of the Motorhome Group to earn income from the hire of their motorhomes. Additionally, the motorhome support services we have built up over the years not only help keep your motorhome or campervan on the road, but help you reduce the cost of your own use by helping you go directly to service providers. We know the importance of good member support services.
Many dealers sub-contract out specialist work and have to add a handling charge. The Motorhome Group levies no charge and often locates the same highly-trained specialists on your behalf and enables you to contact them directly. There is no charge for this service.
To attain the anticipated rental income, your motorhome will have to be in top order at all times. Your motorhome will be working a little bit harder than normal and the likelihood of accidental damage or component failure will increase.
Minor Motorhome Running Repairs
Following many years of experience gained in the motorhome industry, our staff know that it is often the simplicity of the problem that can cause all of the frustration. We know that some minor repairs take valuable time or your vehicle is off the road, not earning money.
A 12 volt water pump failure, a jammed electric step or a broken habitation door key are all 'five minute jobs;' but, if the parts are not on hand or you do not know technicians in the area, you cannot enjoy the use of your motorhome.
To take out the hassle, the Motorhome Group has built up a network of approved technicians and stockists within the UK and these will be made available to all members. The service is available to members only and is completely free of charge. We locate up to three alternative sources that can provide you with fast support.
More seriously if a windscreen needs replacing, some body repair is necessary either minor damage or insurance crash repair, we can source qualified and authorised Motorhome Repair Workshops able to keep you on the road.
Motorhome Gas Testing
All motorhomes made available for hire within the Motorhome Group have to have a valid gas test certificate. Our network of approved gas engineers will provide this as well as repair faulty piezo igniters or blocked jet on a fridge or boiler.
As part of our free service to members, we are a phone call or e-mail away and will put you in touch with qualified engineers.
Motorhome Trackers & Alarms
To reduce your own insurance costs you may have fitted a tracker. We can arrange supply and trackers at member-discounted prices from £300 fully fitted.
Motorhome Breakdown & Roadside Assistance
Many members will have taken out their own breakdown insurance cover with one of the motoring organisations, but all motorhomes on hire are covered by the terms of the booking agreement.
In Europe and Ireland this includes full repatriation of the vehicle if necessary and is paid for within the hire fee.
In the UK, we arrange recovery if necessary on your behalf directly with National Recovery Agents avoiding the on-cost levied by motoring organisations. This is not insurance cover so you only pay if it is necessary but it is the actual cost to recover your vehicle without payment for services which you may not need.
Motorhome Windscreen Repair
As with many motorhome insurance policies 'fully comprehensive' policies may exclude windscreen repair. Some 'A-Class' windscreens are very expensive and insurers have been caught out and out of pocket. The 'fully comprehensive' cover we provide for the hirer excludes windscreen cover.
Toughened windscreens will not fail completely and the motorhome is generally driveable and can be returned to your home address. If the screen has to be sourced from a manufacturer, the work is best done at your home but if the motorhome has a common cab front, same day or next day replacement can be arranged if the van is at home or elsewhere on hire.
We will locate Qualified Windscreen Fitters closest to your vehicle for the repair or replacement to be carried out. This service is only available to members and is free of charge. The maximum contribution the hirer will pay is £750 and this is more than enough to cover the cost of replacement to cab fronted motorhomes.
Major Motorhome Repair
Accidental damage can occur at anytime if it happens on it hire it is understandably a major concern. Repair needs to be carried out to a professional standard, quickly and without affecting the value of your asset.
Cracked shower trays or exterior skirt panels can be repaired with duct tape as a temporary measure, but sooner or later you need to have the correct part from the manufacturer and book it in to a workshop. Your dealer is the obvious choice but if our national Motorhome Repair Workshops can help they will.
We will need photos taken by a digital camera of the damage inside or outside and we will locate up to three alternative sources that can provide you with competitively, priced and fast support.
If the damage has been caused during hire we will need the photos to support either an insurance claim if the damage exceeds £750 or payment from the damage deposit if the damage is less.
