Situated on the border of Scotland and England, Northumberland hosts many famous historic battle sites. With a low and sparse population, Northumberland is the ideal place to go for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity with much of the county comprising of National Park land.

North West England is made up of the counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The major cities in the are Manchester and Liverpool, both of which boast an impressive array of historic architecture, copious museums and galleries and a host of shopping, eating and drinking venues coupled with a unique and diverse culture. Further north of the major cities the landscape becomes noticeably more rural and dramatic and the county of Cumbria in particular is known for its tranquil scenery. The Lake District National Park is a popular destination for visitors and offers a stunning contrast of elegant lakes and rugged mountain range
