What licence do I need to drive a motorhome?
The type of driving licence you require depends on the maximum mass of the motorhome. UK drivers can drive a motorhome weighing up to 3500kg on a standard category B1 licence. A C1 licence is required in order to drive a motorhome with a maximum mass of over 3500kg. Non-UK licences may have different weight restrictions. Please check before hiring. You will need to send us copies of your license before insurance is issued. Motorhome restrictions are covered in more detail within the motorhome hirer help section.

No. Drivers must be aged between 25 and 70 years old during the entire hire period.

If you are involved in a road accident which was not your fault you must ensure you get the insurance details of all parties and witness contact details to recover uninsured losses.
A £1200 damage deposit is preauthorised before you travel in order to ensure the motorhome is returned in the same condition as it was upon collection. This is covered in more legal detail within the Terms and Conditions for hire.

How does the toilet work?
Motorhomes have cassette toilets installed. You use them like a standard toilet, flushing after use. The waste is stored in a removable cassette which is accessed from outside the motorhome. You will need to remove and empty the toilet cassette when necessary. A toilet chemical is used to ensure cleanliness and cassettes must be emptied in designated points. Full instruction on this will be given during the vehicle handover.
