Get all the information you need from the official Glastonbury Festival website. It is worth reading all the information they provide about Glastonbury Festival motorhome facilities. You are at Glastonbury Festival to listen to the best possible music, soak up the atmosphere and to try to not soak up the rain! The Glastonbury mud bath isn't so bad if you are returning to a hot shower in your warm motorhome. Let the teenager's camp in wet tents!
Over the past few years we have had experience of some very wet Glastonbury Festivals so make sure you are fully prepared. Your motorhome camping sites are usually all on the higher ground so you are unlikely to float away in the heaviest downpour.
You could take 4 wooden boards for the motorhome to stand on. The owner may provide them but it's wise to check. They distribute the weight of the motorhome so it does not sink into the wet grass. Be prepared for the motorhome to be towed off by the Glastonbury tractor teams if the ground becomes excessively muddy. Make sure you know where to attach the tow chains. You don't want to have any damage.
Take brollies, wellies and raincoats to keep dry and torches for finding your way back at night. Tips for keeping your motorhome spotlessly clean are as follows:
- Take throws to cover the upholstery
- Take paper kitchen towels and a cloth to clean the floor
- Store your wellies and muddy boots in plastic bin liners in the outside lockers.

Make sure you empty your toilet cassette each day so that everything stays fresh and clean smelling. Take bottled water to drink and keep your fresh water tank levels high.Ensure you empty your grey waste water regularly. If you don't want to move your vehicle you will need to take a couple of buckets so you can drain into them. Do not drain waste water straight onto your grassy site. It smells, is not hygienic and you risk your wheels sinking into the boggy grass.
Having power each day is essential if you want to have water flowing and lights that work. The majority of Glastonbury Festival Campsites have no electric hook up so you will be reliant on your 12 volt leisure battery for power. Running your engine acts like a generator and charges your leisure battery. It's a good idea to run your engine each morning to charge your battery up each day. You will have a dial that shows you whether your battery is fully charged. Better to charge it in the morning as you want lights, and a flush toilet working late at night. If you take a television to use from the leisure battery you will find it an enormous drain on your power, so monitor it closely each morning. Do not worry if you totally flatten your leisure battery as it will never flatten the vehicle battery. Running your engine will soon charge it. So its important to fill up with fuel before you are on site, especially if you have traveled a great distance and are low on fuel.
